Are you familiar with the GasCard system used for university-owned vehicles? If not, look no further. Check out our 'GasCard Guide' to learn more about the GasCard system and how to purchase fuel correctly.
WHAT ARE GASCARDS?
GasCards are the form of payment used by authorized users when purchasing fuel for a university-owned vehicle.
WHO CAN USE A GASCARD?
Authorized users must use the GasCard assigned specifically to the university-owned vehicle when purchasing fuel. Fleet Services oversees the authorization process, allowing users to drive and buy fuel for university-owned vehicles. Contact Fleet Services to learn more about becoming an authorized user.
WHEN SHOULD I USE A GASCARD?
The authorized user must use the GasCard each time they purchase fuel for a university-owned vehicle. Cardholders must never use a GasCard to purchase fuel for their personal vehicles or any other vehicle not assigned to the GasCard.
WHERE SHOULD I PURCHASE FUEL WITH A GASCARD?
Several gas stations accept our GasCard system as a form of payment. Cardholders can download the user-friendly 'Wex Connect' app, available on the App Store and Google Play, to find the nearest fuel stations that accept GasCards.
Cardholders may use the university's fuel station located east of the Fleet Services building on the north side of South Campus Drive. This fuel site offers unleaded and diesel fuel at an average of $0.05 cheaper than outside vendors.
HOW DO I USE A GASCARD?
When purchasing fuel at a gas station, you must enter your personal identification number (PIN) and the accurate odometer reading number. Incorrect odometer reading entries are subject to fines by the State of Utah at a minimum of $50 per occurrence. Contact Fleet Services to learn more about PINs and the odometer reading policy.
